Some Porsche cars already have electric variants, such as the Porsche Taycan. There are plans to further expand the brand’s electric roster through Porsche E-Performance.
This is a plan for the development of new electric and plug-in hybrid models. What models are in development under the Porsche E-Performance plan or are already available?
Porsche Macan EV
The Porsche Macan electric vehicle is in development with a scheduled release date set for 2023. This SUV will be built on the same electric platform used for the Porsche Taycan. It will also feature 800-volt technology that significantly reduces charging time.
So far, spy photos have revealed little details, but an official unveiling has been set for late 2022.
Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid
The Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid was released in 2020 as a 2021 model, and the 2022 model was just released in the fourth quarter of 2021. This model is able to travel up to 19 miles on battery power alone, with the ability to charge while in mid-commute. This is made possible thanks to the 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 engine mated to an electric motor with a rechargeable pack.
Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid
The Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid is fitted with a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 engine mated to a 100kW electric motor. If you opt for the premium Porsche Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid, then the engine is upgraded to a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine. This vehicle is known for its sleek sporty appearance and sloped roofline.
