Major updates are expected for the 2022 Porsche Cayenne, which is still roughly a year off from release. Anticipate a lot of styling changes. We stay up to date on the latest news, and several changes from the 2021 model have already been confirmed. What modifications can we expect?
The Interior Design and Technology
Nothing has been confirmed yet regarding interior changes. However, going off of Porsche design trends, expect the continued application of the Porsche Communication Management system. Other designs prominent in Porsche models, such as the analog meter located just above the infotainment display screen, is also expected to remain intact. Speaking of the infotainment, expect the following features:
- Voice activation
- Bluetooth connectivity
- Apple Carplay
- 40 GB internal memory
- The electric shaver design in the transmission shifter similar to the one on the Porsche 911
Finally, expect most of the analog buttons in the center console to be replaced with touch buttons.
The 2022 Porsche Cayenne will retain the same twin-turbocharged inline-six-cylinder engine from the 2021 model. All-wheel-drive comes standard, producing a 335 hp output. With ample mid-range power and low-end torque, expect smooth freeway and highway cruising.
The exterior is where we can expect major updates. It’ll have a sportier design quite reminiscent of the current Porsche Cayman. 19-inch wheels come standard with the option for upgrade to beefier 21-inch or 22-inch wheels. In addition, expect a polished black grille with chrome accents, a lip spoiler, and deep-tinted glass. The rear license plate, previously positioned on the tailgate, has been repositioned to the rear bumper.
