When we’re young, we play with toy versions of the cars we dream of having when we grow up. When we grow up, we own the cars but miss the fun of playing with the toys. When it comes to the 2016 Porsche 911, you can have the best of both worlds. Many New England Porsche drivers know Porsche of Nashua as the right Porsche dealership for a 911 Porsche. And if you’re feeling nostalgic, the Lego Group has Porsche models produced under license from Porsche that you can assemble.
The upcoming Lego Technic Porsche 911 is the latest in a line of sets that typically contain more than a thousand pieces, and have detailed engines, interiors, and suspension. It’s also a compliment to the company’s Speed Champions line, which has featured a smaller-scale versions of the Porsche 918 Spyder and Porsche 911 GT. This “model year” features plastic versions of a Porsche 917K and the same Porsche 919 that spent last year dominating the World Endurance Championship races.
Lest you think this is just kids’ stuff, the Lego Porsche 911 has already drawn rave reviews from Road & Track, as well as Car and Driver. In a nod to realism — and perhaps a bit of an inside joke given that Lego fans are typically only slightly less enthusiastic than Porsche aficionados — the Porsche 911 is pictured on the box decked out in test camo just like the Porsche test mules that run on the Nurburgring.
If the little kid in you always wanted a 911 Porsche, what better time than now to come to Porsche of Nashua? Take it for a test drive and put it through its paces. You won’t have to put it together, it goes much faster, and it even supplies its own “vroom!” noises. We’re located at 170 Main Dunstable Road in Nashua. Call our sales department at 888-695-4130, or contact our parts department at 603-595-1707. We don’t have jumper plates, 1×2 bricks, or those iconic minifigures, but if you’re looking to customize your Porsche with OEM parts, we’re more than happy to help.
