It’s been called one of the most underrated sports cars in history. For a time, it out-sold the Porsche 911. In its short lifetime, it was as controversial as it was popular. The car in question? The Porsche 914, built from 1969 to 1976.
In its time, it won its class at Le Mans. Two of its variants — the racing and “civilian” 914/6 models — are relatively rare, but for a while, the 914/4 was highly popular, especially here in the States. With a flat-four engine, Targa top, rear-wheel drive, and a manual transmission, it looked as distinctive as it drove.
There’s a point to this. We promise.
See, every month from May to November, the Porsche of Nashua team gets together with our favorite customers at our monthly Porsche of Nashua Rally Club. It’s a great way for Porsche fans like you (and us) to trade tips and bragging rights over the cars we love. It’s also our way of saying “thanks” to you.
Some arrive with older classics like the Porsche 356, Porsche 914, or vintage Porsche 911 models. Others have classics in the making, including the Porsche 718 Cayman and the Porsche Macan. The cars are as diverse as their drivers, and that’s exactly how we like it.
The next rally takes place on Saturday, September 23 (the August rally has been cancelled). If your schedule’s full that day, the last two rally dates are Saturday, October 21, and Saturday, November 18 (Turkey Trot Rally). To find out more, why not stop by the Porsche of Nashua showroom at 170 Main Dunstable Road? You can also follow us on social media to keep up on the latest goings-on in the land of new Porsche cars and SUVs. Whatever brings you here, we’ll be happy to see you!
